This should be an interesting one, as death metal's most powerful bassist steps up to face one of metal's most innovative players.

Alex Webster is best known as a member of Cannibal Corpse, but although his work with the iconic death metal band is impressive, Webster's most insane playing can be heard in Blotted Science. Webster's work in those two bands, along with Hate Eternal, has brought the bassist into Round 2 after a win against Suffocation's Derek Boyer.

Unsurprisingly, Tool bassist Justin Chancellor has also advanced to Round 2. Chancellor's playing and artistic drive helped bring Tool's music into a more enlightened realm, allowing for the band's iconic ascension. Chancellor never allows a song to drag, even when guitarist Adam Jones drops out completely. Chancellor defeated the exceptional Colin Marston in Round 1 by a large margin, allowing for advancement into Round 2.
