In addition to confirming his Taylor Swift fandom, All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte recently surmised the metal band's next album should arrive in 2021. That is, if his hopes for the effort's timeline are realized.

Victim of the New Disease — the band's ninth studio effort and last to feature late guitarist Oli Herbert, who died in October 2018 — was issued late last year. While the band are currently touring with Herbert's replacement in guitarist Jason Richardson, Labonte doesn't want to jump the gun on a follow-up album. In fact, he'd rather wait it out until Richardson wraps up outside commitments before starting in on album number 10. Watch the All That Remains' vocalist's complete interview down toward the bottom of this post.

"We'll get done with this tour, and then our guitar player Jason Richardson has to do a solo record that I think he intends to finish up before the end of the year, so All That Remains will go ahead and take a little bit of time off," Labonte told Global AZ Media at the band's recent stop in Phoenix.

He continued, "We're talking about doing some more touring [in the] early part of next year, but we'll see. We talked about starting to write stuff. I talked to a couple producers that we've been throwing ideas around with. I can't announce anything yet, but I'll be getting together with some people to start writing some stuff when we go home after this tour. We'll get the whole band together probably January and start hashing stuff out seriously, but I don't see us going to actually record until at least summertime."

Pressed for a probable release date for the band's next full-length, the All That Remains figurehead offered an early 2021 estimate while revealing his aversion to dropping albums in the latter half of the year.

"Maybe late summer?" Labonte guessed in the conversation transcribed by Blabbermouth. "I don't want the record to come out next year. For me personally, I just don't like having a record come out in the second half of the year. I'd rather have it come out [in the] first part of 2021, because we don't have enough time to get the record done and have it out by the second quarter of 2020. That's what we're shooting for, but who knows — things change."

But that's not all. The All That Remains vocalist — who previously fronted Shadows Fall, has toured with Killswitch Engage and once filled in for Five Finger Death Punch — affirmed that he's "genuinely a Taylor Swift fan," an admission which first made the rounds in metal news back in 2015.
