The wait for the first new CKY album in eight years is nearly over as the band readies the release of The Phoenix, which will be out on June 16. With "Days of Self Destruction" and "Replaceable" already out, fans can further map out what the new album will bring with the melodic rocker "Head for a Breakdown."

Unlike the two previous singles, "Head for a Breakdown" rests on the more somber side of the CKY sound, opening with some light acoustics, gradually working in a feature melody and thumping groove. Flush with hooks, the song boasts a powerful verse and highly-memorable, sing-song chorus that seesaws between singer / guitarist Chad I Ginsburg's soulful delivery and a melody-driven passage. Over the bridge, the track builds to a climax of sorts with the most aggressive moments coming in alongside the solo.

"'Head for a Breakdown' seemed to write itself," commented Ginsburg. “In a sense, it's a song about taking things too far when you darn right know it won't end well but you do it anyway. Go figure. The mid solo section is an epic break unlike any we have done in the past. Very Proud of this song.”

Fans looking to snag their copy of The Phoenix can place their pre-orders here (digital) or at the CKY webstore (physical options and bundle offers).

CKY will hit the road as part of this year's Warped Tour on June 16, the same day as the release of The Phoenix. They'll share the stage with other like-minded act as the touring festival has added a slew of heavier acts like GWAR, Municipal Waste, The Acacia Strain, Hatebreed and more.
