Back in September, Coal Chamber announced that they would be reuniting to play Australia’s Soundwave Festival as an homage to their infinitely loyal fans.

For drummer Mikey Cox, the first reunion show is going to be one he’ll remember for awhile, and not just for nostalgic reasons. During their set on Saturday Feb. 25 at the Brisbane Soundwave stop, the drummer broke two fingers while manning the kit.

Frontman Dez Fafara took to Twitter after the show, saying: “BUG broke 2 fingers today playing. Eeeouch.” OUCH indeed! He also posted a photo of Mikey’s bloody bandaged digits, seen here.

The accident didn’t seem to take anything away from their reunion performance though, watch a fan-filmed video of  the modern day lineup of Coal Chamber performing ‘Loco’ from their 1997 self-titled release below. According to the band, Cox will not miss any of the Australian shows due to his injuries.

Coal Chamber will continue their Soundwave 2012 festival run through several Australian cities wrapping up on March 5. As of right now, the band has not committed to any additional dates and frontman Dez Fafara told Full Metal Jackie that no new music is in the works.
