It was 1994 when a group of musicians bonded over their shared love of hard rock and metal and by 1997 the band known as System of a Down were signing on the dotted line with acclaimed producer Rick Rubin and his American Records imprint via Columbia. The band proved to be one of the most original and eclectic acts the metal world has ever seen, delivering an abundance of memorable tunes along the way. While the music world waits for a new album from the band, this Readers Poll asks you to pick your favorite System of a Down song.

In 1998, the four-piece of Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan arrived on the scene with their self-titled debut disc that spawned the frenetic hit single 'Sugar' and its follow-up 'Spiders.' 2001's 'Toxicity' was the album that truly put them on the map, first serving up the equally melodic and aggressive 'Chop Suey!,' as well as the more haunting follow-up tracks 'Toxicity' and 'Aerials.' The disc also featured such fan favorites album cuts as 'Psycho' and 'ATWA.'

In 2002, a bunch of leaked tracks led to System of a Down issuing the collection 'Steal This Album.' The set reportedly featured music recorded during the 'Toxicity' sessions that was left off the album because it didn't flow with the disc's continuity. 'Innervision' became the primary single off the disc, with 'I-E-A-I-A-I-O' and 'Roulette' also getting attention.

The group's recording output concluded with two 2005 albums -- 'Mezmerize' and 'Hypnotize.' Between the two discs, the band yielded 'B.Y.O.B.,' 'Question,' 'Lost in Hollywood,' 'Hypnotize' and 'Lonely Day' as some of the more popular songs from the releases.

While the band has dozens of solid songs in its catalog, we've provided a select list from which you can choose your favorite System of a Down track. Vote in the poll below:
