Oh boy, here we go again. GWAR are back with another highly unexpected cover song and they kill it as you might expect. After all, they do kill everything, right? They've covered Kansas, the Pet Shop Boys and Billy Ocean, so naturally the next place to go was by metallizing Cyndi Lauper's "She Bop." The Scumdogs throw in an extra "bop" surprise at the end too!

As part of the A.V. Club's 'Undercover' series, GWAR returned once more to tear apart a song that's likely far from most metalhead playlists. Every year, the A.V. Club drafts a list of songs for artists to cover when they visit the studio. As the year goes on, potential songs are crossed off the list and the guest band must select one of the remaining songs on the list. If you don't want to hear GWAR cover Cyndi Lauper you'll just have to blame the band ... and scheduling! That's probably not a good idea considering their reputation for taking lives.

In an effort to make amends for what they've just done, GWAR switch gears and transition into "Blitzkrieg Bop" from the Ramones. The song is definitely more the band's speed, but these Scumdog musicians are more diverse than they often get credit for and the Lauper cover is fun enough where "Blitzkrieg Bop" is just an added bonus.

GWAR are currently on tour with Battlecross and will be awaiting the return of direct support act Born of Osiris as their guitarist Lee McKinney recovers from surgery after breaking his foot on tour. The trek will go on through the end of November, so be sure to check out a list of remaining tour dates here.
