In This Moment have been working away on their fourth studio album and according to frontwoman Maria Brink, “It’s the best, dirtiest, most raw material we’ve ever brought.”

Fans got their first taste of the new music at Soundwave Festival in Australia last month when the band premiered the song ‘Blood.’ Well, in carrying on that theme, the band recently announced on their Facebook page that ‘Blood’ wasn’t just a song, it’s also the name of the new disc. The band revealed the title by posting a dictionary definition of the word blood followed by, “Through the blood of the phoenix we are reborn,” hinting that this album is a reinvention of sorts for the band.

That doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering they lost their drummer and guitarist who both left the band to join American Idol alumnist James Durbin. The lineup change not only fueled their creative fire, but according to Brink, “was meant to be.”

‘Blood’ the album was produced by Kevin Churko who the band has worked with in the past, and is due out this summer on Century Media Records.
