Korn Postpone Handful of Headlining May 2017 Tour Dates
After performing with Robert Trujillo's 12-year-old son Tye on bass in South America, Korn were slated to hit the U.S. for a small run of headlining dates with Fieldy reclaiming his role. The group has now issued a statement that a number of these shows will not go ahead as planned and will be rescheduled.
Korn made the announcement on Facebook (post below), stating, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be rescheduling a majority of our May tour dates. We will still be performing at Carolina Rebellion on May 6th, Pointfest on May 13th and Rock On The Range on May 20th. All tickets will be honored, or refunded at the point of purchase. Stay tuned for more information regarding rescheduling the dates." A list of the affected stops can be seen below.
"Unforeseen circumstances" were also cited as the reason why Tye Trujillo was enlisted as a fill-in on Korn's South American run. The shows went off without a hitch as guitarist Munky was blown away by the youngster's abilities. “[He] knows like 17, 18 Korn songs and he knows them really well – it’s crazy. All the stops and the breaks… it’s crazy to see somebody that young so talented. He’s gonna be a professional musician and to know that at that early of an age is just inspiring," the guitarist commented.
Munky also explained how Tye handled himself offstage, adding, "When we go to the shows, he’s got people wanting his picture and his autograph – he’s a little overwhelmed, but he’s handling himself just like his dad, which is cool, collected and modest."
