Back in April, the announcement was made about the inaugural Metal Maya destination festival near Cancun, Mexico. Some of the initial bands that were revealed included Anthrax, Overkill, Superjoint, Death Angel, Metal Allegiance, Otep and Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens. Now they've announced even more acts.

Several more bands will be part of the festival to be held Oct. 29 - Nov. 2 at the Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun. They include Hatebreed, Crowbar, Whitechapel, Prong, Kyng and Oni. In addition, Lamb of God's Chris Adler will be one of the event hosts.

Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta says, “We’re honored to have been invited to play at the inaugural Metal Maya in Cancun this October. We plan on losing our minds for a few days in Mexico, and we’d love for you to join us…and to top it all off…free booze!”

“Kyng is honored to be a part of this festival, and share the stage with all of the gut-wrenching bands that have inspired us to play heavy music,” says frontman Eddie Veliz. “To top it off, this will happen in our motherland! Can't wait for Metal Maya!”

In addition to all the music, other events will be held as well. Philip Anselmo will be curating a special Halloween horror movie night with selections from his personal collection. There are also plenty of excursions hosted by artists. For more information about the event, excursions and more, go to MetalMaya.com.
