Papa Roach Employ Ballet Troupe for ‘None of the Above’ Video
Papa Roach continue to deliver interesting visuals for their music, this time turning a spotlight on the DanceXperience ballet troupe as they performed with the group at the Beaufort Castle in Luxembourg for the video for "None of the Above."
The dancers, dressed all in clean white, offer a stark contrast to the burned and run down ruins of the castle. For the clip, the band reunited with director Bryson Roatch and employed esteemed urban dance choreographer Alex Lopes to work with the troupe to help portray the feeling of the song.
“We actually wrote ‘None of the Above’ near the end of recording Crooked Teeth,” says bassist Tobin Esperance, “We were going for a classic rock-sounding anthem, juxtaposed with current, contemporary, sounds and taking a rock anthem to a younger generation. Bryson had this great idea of going to a castle while we were on our European tour and then he made us even more excited by telling us that he could get this song choreographed and he delivered on all counts.”
“We wanted to create something you would not normally see from a rock band,” says director Bryson Roatch, “It was amazing and such an honor to work with other artists from a different culture and see their passion.”
The clip arrives just as Papa Roach are about to start the final North American leg of their Crooked Teeth tour. The trek gets underway April 5 in Raleigh, N.C., and runs through mid-May, concluding May 13 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Nothing More and Escape the Fate will join in the spring dates. While the Crooked Teeth touring appears to be winding down, the band will get a break from the road for most of the summer before picking up again with a handful of European festival dates in August.
