We're attempting to determine the top rock radio hit of the 21st Century with the Rocktober Rumble tournament, as Round 1 begins with 32 songs that commanded the airwaves. Here are two monster hits of the current millennium.

Papa Roach arrived on the scene in 2000 with the undeniably catchy single "Last Resort," a song that came with some powerful lyrical content delivered by Jacoby Shaddix. "Last Resort" has become the band's signature song over the years and helped Infest become one of their biggest albums. Revisit the track in the player below.

A few years later, Trapt arrived with an anthemic rocker of their own. "Headstrong" dominated radio in 2002, and the motivational chart-topper was also popular in the video game world, appearing on the soundtracks of numerous games. Turn it up and feel your energy level rise with Trapt's "Headstrong" in the player below.

Both songs were huge at rock radio, but which one deserves to move forward? You can vote for once per hour for either Papa Roach or Trapt through the deadline of Monday, Oct. 17 at 10AM ET. And click the red button below to view the next Rocktober Rumble matchup.
