As Slipknot prepare the release of their sixth album this summer, the band has released an official statement announcing that they have parted ways with percussionist Chris Fehn.

The statement, which appears on Slipknot's website, reads as follows:

Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.

Long Live The Knot.

Last week, The Blast reported that Fehn was suing Slipknot. It alleges that the band's touring and merchandise revenue was to be funneled into one account that then splits the profits and distributes it to band members from there. Fehn is said to have claimed that multiple business entities were established and also collecting money, which led to him to call for a complete forensic accounting to be done on Slipknot's companies and assets so he could be paid the proper money he's owed.

Slipknot have yet to confirm or acknowledge the reported lawsuit, though when the news broke, Corey Taylor tweeted, "You're gonna read a lot of bullshit today," noting that the truth will come out. It was presumably in response to the alleged lawsuit.
