You knew there was more than one date coming, right? Slipknot have just substantially added onto their 2019 touring plans by revealing a full leg of European tour dates and included in that is a headlining spot at the Download Festival in Donington Park next year.

Slipknot, Tool and Def Leppard (performing Hysteria in its entirety) will head up the three-day music weekend June 14-16, on a bill that also includes Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Die Antwoord, Whitesnake, Rob Zombie, Trivium, Amon Amarth, Carcass, Delain, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Opeth, Power Trip, Reel Big Fish, Skindred, Starset, Tesla, The Amity Affliction, Underoath and many more to be announced.

Speaking to Kerrang about headlining the event along with top draws Tool and Def Leppard, Shawn "Clown" Crahan stated, “If someone chooses to come and see us, they’re going to get us. I don’t care about the day before, and I don’t care about the day after! One thing I know about Slipknot is that it’s impossible to not talk about us, so I really don’t get caught up in competition – I’m here to kick you in the face and make you remember it. End of story. I don’t know what Tool is doing, and I don’t fucking care. I wanna hear their new album, but if I’m out playing, I don’t care what they’re doing, and they don’t care what I’m doing. But I’m gonna kick you in the face.”

Def Leppard's Joe Elliott added in the Download announcement, “We are delighted to be going back to headline Download in 2019! The festival has a very special place in our hearts and it’s such a great place to play. We will be playing Hysteria in full – yes, in full! – plus a load more of the hits, and we are going to put on a very special show for our UK fans. Can’t wait to see you all there!”

Tickets for the Download Festival go on sale at 2PM local time this Thursday (Oct. 25) and will remain at 2018 prices until Tuesday, Nov. 6.

As stated, there are even more Slipknot dates to reveal as well. The band has announced a 2019 European Tour Leg that commences the weekend of June 7-8 at Rockfest in Hyvinkaa, Finland and continues through a stop the weekend of July 4-5 at VOA in Lisbon, Portugal. All stops are listed below.

Crahan says that fans should be ready as things are coming together for the band. "We’ve been doing this for 20 years, and if everyone just shuts the fuck up and lets us do what we do best – which is Slipknot – then we will come through. There’s, like, 20 categories of things that need to be taken care of in order to make a Slipknot album, and I’m talking to you today, on October-fucking-whatever, about headlining Download Festival 2019. If that isn’t enough to make everybody wake the fuck up that we’re back, then I don’t know what the fuck else is. This is real.”
