Nikki Sixx: Godsmack’s Sully Erna Should Play ‘Angry Midget’ in Motley Crue’s Vegas Shows
In addition to putting together a set list for their upcoming residency in Las Vegas, apparently Motley Crue are busy working on some additional onstage entertainment to accompany their show. The band has previously featured a unicycle-riding, fire-breathing little person onstage at gigs, and Nikki Sixx reveals that they're looking for someone to fill the role in Sin City. His first choice? Godsmack singer Sully Erna.
Ouch!
"We're looking for an angry midget for our Vegas show's and was thinking of using the singer from Godsmack," Sixx writes in a Twitter post, obviously taking a dig at Erna, who is listed online as 5'5". So, what's with the nastiness, anyways?
The slam didn't exactly come out of nowhere. Sixx and Erna have been waging a very public war of words since Godsmack hit the road in 2009 as part of the Crue Fest 2 tour, when Erna was apparently upset by the way his band was treated by camp Crue. Rumor had it that he penned the Godsmack tune ‘Cryin’ Like a Bitch' about Sixx -- a rumor that he didn't exactly deny.
The two have been feuding on-and-off since then, with Sixx's 'midget' comment the latest volley. As Godmack drummer Shannon Larkin explained last September: "Sully runs his mouth, Nikki runs his mouth. They’re both big rock stars. Next thing you know, it’s a battle in the press.”
Sully, looks like it's your turn.
Motley Crue's 12-show residency in Sin City residency is set for Feb. 3-19 at the Joint at Hard Rock Casino. Tickets are available here.
