Slipknot’s ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ Projected to Hit No. 1 in US + UK
As if it weren't already exciting enough that Tool have re-entered the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 with Ænima, it's looking like Slipknot will be joining them, too. We Are Not Your Kind was released last Friday (Aug. 9), and is projected to hit No. 1 in both the U.S. and the U.K.
The maggots are just eating the new album up. According to Hits Daily Double, the Knot's new release is on pace to have a combined total of 100,000 to 120,000 total units streamed and sold, with between 90,000 and 100,000 being actual album sales. A digital copy of the album was included with ticket purchases to attend their Knotfest Roadshow.
This would make We Are Not Your Kind Slipknot's third consecutive No. 1 album in the U.S. following All Hope Is Gone and .5 The Gray Chapter. Imagine the Top 10 having both Tool and Slipknot?
Additionally, according to the U.K.'s mid-week reports, Slipknot are 13,000 sold units ahead of Ed Sheeran, whose No. 6 Collaborations Project has been sitting at the top for four weeks. This would be their first No. 1 album in the U.K. since Iowa.
