It’s been five years since The Ghost Inside were involved in a tragic bus crash that killed two people and left several band members with life-changing injuries. The group have now marked the fifth anniversary of what they call their 're-birthday" by releasing a live video of “Mercy.”

The clip was filmed outside the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles at the band’s comeback concert in July, which was their first show since the accident. At the sold out performance, frontman Jonathan Vigil at one point proclaimed to concertgoers, "If we aren't the most loved band in the world, it sure feels like it." Watch the fiery and intense video below.

In a series of tweets, the band wrote, “In TGI world, we have come to call November 19 our re-birthday. Today we celebrate by sharing a live music video of ‘Mercy’ from our show this summer in Los Angeles. We want to honor the drivers Greg and Stephen that lost their lives, and say thank you to all our loved ones for their unconditional support. To every single person that supports this band in any way, there are really no words to describe how you make us feel. Every kind word, donation, tattoo, comment, or even just a listen to a song, has carried us from the lowest moment of our lives through to today. We owe you a debt that can never be repaid, but we will try our best to make you proud. Together, all of us, we are limitless & unbreakable. See you in 2020.”

Five years ago, the bus carrying the band and their crew collided head on with a semi truck killing the drivers of both vehicles and seriously injuring The Ghost Inside’s Andrew Tkaczyk, Jonathan Vigil and Zach Johnson, who were transported by helicopter to the University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. All three have recovered since the accident but drummer Andrew Tkaczyk spent ten days in a coma and lost his right leg. He now plays with a special prosthetic device.

The Ghost Inside are planning to play more shows in the near future. In the meantime, the Los Angeles rockers have been working on new music with A Day to Remember's Jeremy McKinnon and Fit for an Autopsy's Will Putney. The band will play in London on July 4, 2020. See their tour dates here.
