Report: Motley Crue, Def Leppard + Poison 2020 Stadium Tour Is Coming
The rumors appear to be true as Rolling Stone has reportedly confirmed that Motley Crue will reunite in 2020 and will embark on a stadium tour with Def Leppard and Poison.
UPDATE: Motley Crue have released a statement confirming their reunion.
Despite having signed a cessation of touring agreement, Motley Crue will reunite after completing their farewell tour on Dec. 31, 2015. The band urged that this would indeed be their last-ever performance and the legal agreement would prohibit them from touring again, but there remained power for the band to regroup in an override loophole. A recent fan petition begging Motley Crue to come back was acknowledged by the band, further signaling their inevitable return.
In the weeks leading up to this news, Poison frontman Bret Michaels forecasted a 2020 return for the group, noting that he was working on "something incredible" for the run.
No tour dates or any other specifics have been reported as of yet.
Upon releasing The Dirt, the band biopic issued by Netflix which chronicled the band's ascent to rock stardom along with the personal tolls their wild lifestyle took on their personal lives, Motley Crue roared back into the spotlight. The soundtrack accompanying the film featured three brand new songs, leaving fans longing for their return.
It's the latest in what's been a stunning three-week span for rock reunions, with My Chemical Romance, Rage Against the Machine and The Black Crowes also staring down 2020 comebacks.
